Llandudno Memories@Ty Llywelyn

Come and join us on Friday 9th July for an afternoon of reminiscence. We will have pictures of Llandudno past and present with access to archive photos online.

You will also be able to search online for family history - bring along any information that you have and we will help you use the online search web sites.
See you there!

Puzzling Llangefni ornament

This picture of a small pottery ornament is rather puzzling. Although it has a Llangefni picture painted on it, if you turn it over the bottom inscription reveals that the shape is based on an archaelogical find from Marine Drive in Llandudno.

Thanks to Betty for bringing this and a number of other items for the project

Elizabeth Craig Cookery Book

An interesting book was photographed at our Sentiment session on Friday: Elizabeth Craig's Cookery Illustrated and Household Management
This book, first published in 1937, is full of interesting recipes and handy hints including one using petrol and bran to clean your shoes!

This is a particularly good picture because it shows how well used the book was even by the younger members of the family (see scribbles!)

Thanks to Margaret for bringing it in to be photographed.

Sentiment@Ty Llwyelyn

As part of The Past is Always Present Film Heritage project, there will be a Sentiment session at Ty Llywelyn on Friday 18th June after Luncheon Club. We are hoping that everyone will bring a sentimental item to the centre to be photographed.

This can be anything that means something special to you - a book, a piece of jewelery, a cuddly toy . . . anything that you think has been important to you in your life. We will take a photo and this will be included in our exhibition at Llandudno Museum in may 2011.

Footnote: This was one of the lovely items brought in on Friday - many thanks to all who contributed
